It is inconvenient to have the bridge closed. With no explanations other than the barracades and tape it did not take long before someone removed the tape. I crossed safely last night and had no idea why the bridge was closed. Was glad to read the explanation.

A week to fix the bridge. Another advantage of bicycles. Would probably take weeks to fix a bridge made for cars. I suspect most people who drive regularly do not appreciate how much use this trail gets.

Based on the photo in the Record story a few sheets of plywood on the north side of the affected section would make it safe enough to cross on that side as a temporary measure until the decking could be fixed properly.
