A lot of my motoring friends think winter cycling is for crazy people.
Well, yes. When you think about some of the road hazards facing cyclists, even ordinary cycling is for crazy people.
But it's a NICE kind of crazy.
But if you are also crazy enough to count a fatbike among your collection of bicycles, then Waterloo's King Street Cycles has a crazy winter event for you.
The Hydrocut Hustle, Sunday, Feb. 25, is the fourth annual outing for King Street, and this year is a co-event with the City of Waterloo's 15th annual Winterloo, which runs Feb. 23-25.
Riders of all sorts of bicycles may participate, but only bicycles with tires that are 3.8 inches wide or wider will be timed or counted in the event lapping. Organizers say that a line has to be drawn somewhere, and 3.8 inches is the line.
