I have been road biking for a few years and my heart rate always soars to about 170 to 180. My resting heart rate is usually 60 to 70. Today, after a hard 30 mile ride in the wind, I noticed a pulsating in my navel area. This coupled with some unexplained bruising on my feet and legs, alarmed me. I googled "pulsating abdomen" and came up with abdominal aortic aneurysm. I immediately called my cardiologist and have an appointment for tomorrow at noon. Meanwhile, I am totally freaked out. With the prospect of never riding again (which I absolutely love) and facing risky heart surgery...very unsettling to say the least. I am a 48 year old mother of four. I will try to get back to this post with my doctor's results. Thank you.
