Best wishes to Ryan Roth of Cambridge, who has been named to Canada's 13-member cycling team for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India, this October.
The Commonwealth Games are seen by many amateur athletes as a stepping stone to the Olympics. The 2012 Games are in London. Other members of the team are:
Men: Michael Barry of Toronto, who is sitting 99th overall after Friday's stage of the Tour de France; Svein Tuft of Langley, B.C.; Will Routley of Whistler; Zach Bell of Watson Lake, Y.T.; and Travis Smith of Calgary.
Women: Tara Whitten of Edmonton; Erinne Willock of Victoria; Joelle Numainville of Montreal; Alison Testroete of Abbotsford, B.C.; Julie Beveridge and Monique Sullivan, both of Calgary; and Leah Kirchmann of Winnipeg.
