Bill, as the author of The Lost Cyclist I thank you for your kind words. I might add that Lenz rode through Ontario at the start of his world tour, in June 1892, and was quite captivated by the people and scenery. Although he didn't quite get to Waterloo, he came as close as Brantford, where he spent a night at the Kerby. The local paper pronounced Lenz "perhaps the greatest amateur cyclist in the United States," adding, "Brantford bicyclists will now watch his tour with increased interest."
