Southern Ontario has been in the grip of winter for the last 3,000 hours -- which is a lot of time that could have been spent cycling.
Caught in that icy grasp are orphan bicycles, locked up awaiting a better cycling day that just never came. Eventually, there will be a thaw, and the two-wheelers locked into snowbanks around the city will transform from bicicles to bicycles.
We hope.

I recall a March not so many years ago that I was out doing training rides on the local rural roads every weekend. The roads were dry and the birds were singing.
